NHS PATIENTS. The process may be different. Philips have a phenomenal amount to get through so we cannot confirm how long this will take. Emails and letters are being sent out to all customers.

They will require your existing machine to be sent back to them and will arrange a courier with you. Philips will confirm this with you when they call. To all CUSTOMERS OF OUR HOPE2SLEEP CHARITY ONLY. The exchange programme has now begun and all customers will be contacted by Philips via the details you left when registering your machine, to arrange a replacement of either the newly released DreamStation 2 Machine or a brand new original DreamStation but with a new safe foam.

#Philips dreamstation update

This affects all Philips machines worldwide and we'll update this announcement when we have official advice from Philips for existing patients on Philips CPAP machines and non-invasive ventilators. PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENT - As of today, 14th June 2021, we are no longer able to supply any Philips CPAP machines until further notice as there has been an urgent halt on manufacturer and supply. In the meantime, for newly diagnosed sufferers the alternative machines we have here at the charity are the Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle CPAP/APAP, and the Lowenstein Prisma which are both super machines and are also used in NHS sleep clinics. We will personally contact all our customers so please look out for an email. We cannot give medical advice ourselves, but we can confirm that all of us at the charity using Philips machines are continuing - as are most patients we've spoken to. Whilst the health risk is very small at 0.03% with no cases reported in the UK, Philips are taking this very seriously, and it needs to be weighed up as to whether the small risk vs untreated sleep apnoea is greater.

IMPORTANT!! Everyone who uses or has bought this DreamStation CPAP or the DreamStation Go Travel machines we supply at the charity (plus many other Philips machines on the above link) must NOW register their machine on the following link so that Philips can contact you direct with a solution, which will either be a replacement machine or replacement foam. UPDATE - 23rd June 2021- A UK and International Medical Device Safety Field Notice has now been issued so please go to this link to read it

You can download this by clicking on this link /user/products/large/MHRA Patient Safety Alert.pdf They are instructing clinics NOT to advise their patients to discontinue CPAP or NIV therapy and leave patients open to the damage of untreated sleep apnoea, as well as the risks of driving when not treated. The UK MHRA have now released their Safety Notice after an in-depth investigation. The clinics are under huge pressure and doing the best they can, and we know that many are grateful for the patience from their own patients.

We can't confirm how this will happen for you, but Philips will be liaising with your sleep clinic who will be in touch with you at the appropriate time. Some patients will be contacted directly by Philips and others will have their clinics sort this on behalf of patients.
